ScholarshipMatch: a free scholarship eligibility checker and tracker
Most scholarship lists show you everything and match you with nothing. ScholarshipMatch works the other way: tell it your nationality, the degree you want, your field and your GPA, and it checks you against the published eligibility rules of hundreds of real scholarships, including the fully funded scholarships students ask about most. Every match shows its award, its deadline and a live countdown, and one click moves it into your personal scholarship tracker, a board that keeps your shortlist, your application status and your deadlines in one place, with a calendar export when you need it.
Your scholarship tracker
Your tracker: 0 scholarshipsNothing tracked yet. Run a match above and press Track on any scholarship to pin it here. The board lives in your browser, keeps a live countdown for every deadline, and is never limited by the daily match runs.
How ScholarshipMatch matching works
Every rule below is applied exactly as written, and each result card repeats the scholarship's own eligibility wording so you can see why it matched:
- Nationality: a scholarship matches when its published eligibility is open to all nationalities or international students in general, names a broad pool you belong to (for example a region or developing countries), or names your nationality or country directly. If the database wording names a pool this checker cannot place you in with confidence, the scholarship is not silently dropped; it appears under close matches when everything else fits.
- Degree level: your chosen level must appear in the scholarship's published degree levels. Levels written as a range (for example "Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral") match any level inside the range.
- Field of study: your field must appear in the scholarship's published fields, the scholarship must be open to all fields, or the database must publish no field restriction for it (most general scholarships publish none, and none is treated as open).
- GPA: when the scholarship publishes a minimum on a 4.0 scale (or one that converts cleanly), your GPA must meet it. Scholarships with no published GPA minimum match everyone. When the minimum is written as a percentage, a class of honours, or another scale that does not convert cleanly, the scholarship lands in close matches with the exact wording shown, instead of being excluded on a guess.
- Exclusions: a few scholarships are open to almost everyone except specific nationalities (for example, citizens of the host country). Those never appear as matches for an excluded nationality, and the exact eligibility wording is printed on every card.
- Fully funded: the toggle only trusts the database's own award type wording. A scholarship counts as fully funded when its award type says so outright, or describes full tuition plus living costs, a stipend, or travel. Nothing is labelled fully funded on a guess.
- Sorting: matches are sorted by deadline, soonest first. Deadlines the database gives as a month, a season, or "varies" keep their published wording and sort after dated deadlines.
Questions
Is ScholarshipMatch really free?
Yes. You get 5 free match runs per day on your connection, with no account. After that, entering an email unlocks unlimited match runs for the rest of the day. The tracker board, statuses and calendar export are always free and never limited.
Where does the scholarship data come from?
From the StudyAbroadExperts scholarship database, which tracks award amounts, eligible nationalities, degree levels, fields, GPA requirements, deadlines and essay or letter requirements for each scholarship. ScholarshipMatch shows what the database holds and invents nothing: if a scholarship does not publish a figure, the card does not guess one.
Why did a scholarship I expected not appear?
It may be outside the harvested database, its eligibility wording may not name your nationality or a pool you belong to, its degree levels may not include yours, or its GPA rule may sit in the close matches section because the scale is not a clean 4.0 comparison. The official provider page is always the final word.
Is my tracker uploaded anywhere?
No. Your tracker, statuses and matches are stored only in your browser (localStorage). Clearing your browser data clears them. The calendar file is generated on your device.
What does fully funded mean here?
It follows the database's award type wording: a scholarship counts when its award type says "fully funded" or "full scholarship", or describes full tuition together with living costs, a stipend, or travel. Partial awards, tuition-only awards and fee waivers do not count, however generous they are.
